Lots of turnovers in their own end for the Flames last night. That never adds up to success. When you cant clear the puck time after time, sooner or later it will bite you in the arse.

I agree that he's probably not a good fit for them but let's be honest, the Flames just aren't a good team regardless. A new coach wouldn't change all that much.

That's a GM problem as much as a coaching issue. He can only send out what the GM gives him to work with back there.

The coach requested Grossman be signed as an 8, for whatever reason. The coach is the one choosing to play Grossman over Jokipakka (indefensible) and is also the one choosing to give Engelland more minutes than Giordano (again, indefensible). The only blame on the GM is he allowed the coach to talk him into his buddies Grossman and Chaisson to begin with.

If Calgary struggled to score I could understand it but I look at that team defence and there is no way they should be as bad as they are IMO....

Calgary will slowly get better in a couple weeks when they hire a NHL level coach to actually coach the team again. Couple more blow outs and it should be on a fast track. When I watch them, I feel like they will never win again.

I'm usually not behind agreeing as the coach as the problem, but in this case it IS the problem. Like seriously obvious. Treliving needs to suck this one up and own up to his hiring mistake.

I know a GM only gets a certain amount of coaches, but I'd have so much more respect and patience for Treliving if he just came out and said he got this wrong, and he's going to fix it. Flames are going nowhere with this coach.

I don't often agree with rataylor22, but man, you are so right on this subject. Even as an Oiler fan, I can see that Calgary was building an interesting young team of quality players, but it's clear to me why the Flames are fizzling right now and it all points to the Head Coach. #FireGulutzan indeed.
