Have you seen them skating RP? What are your predictions for Giroux in the year coming? Will it be Knuble or Giroux getting the ice time?
Good news and bad news. From Philly\'s standpoint, this is a great move. From a fantasy standpoint, I think it\'s safe to say that Richards point totals will not increase. They might stay the same this next season, then start to decrease as he takes on more responsibility. He won\'t be a slouch by any means, but he\'ll start to be on the ice in critical situations (i.e. more PK, end of the game, etc) and Carter will be relied on more for the scoring.

I always have a slight nag in the back of my head with Richards. He plays such an in your face style that I worry about his health in the long term.
Real life, he is as valuable as they get. Fantasy, I don\'t see him passing last year.
If Gagne stays healthy I think Richards will have a chance to eclipse last years totals. Briere is moving to RW. I know he\'s reckless but I suppose so am I
Only the rookies have been in so far for the flyboys. From what I\'ve read Gagne has been playing pick up in Quebec all summer so he should be ready to go. Sbisa is a year or two away most likely but looks very good to me. Giroux will be on line two with Carter to be the playmaker to Carters sniper, book it.

A:
Gags - Richards - Briere
Hartnell - Carter - Knuble
B:
Gags - Richards - Briere
Hartnell - Carter - Giroux
Knuble does his job so well it is difficult to see him not getting top 6 minutes, especially on PP.
I love Richards, this is a great move on the Flyers part
hard to say how it will affect his fantasy output but it certainly makes perfect sense in the real world

I see Knuble getting traded or bought out. I know the team isn\'t saying anything but I just have a hunch.
The Flyers will get some cap room with Hatcher I believe.
I think Giroux will be 3rd line until something happens with Knuble or Gagne goes down again. And then he moves up with Carter.

As a fan who bleeds orange and black this is EXCELLENT news. Richards is everything you want in a player and leader, and will be the face of the Flyers for many years. He is the Millenial Generation Bobby Clarke and Doug Gilmour.
In Fantasyland Richards will continue to be a valuable asset as long as he keeps manning the point on the PP. Philly\'s PP made some poolies very happy last season.

Do you guys think Carter has the talent to break-out the way Richards did last year, fantasy wise?
12 Team Roto $ League

C- Stamkos, Backstrom
RW - Gaborik, Vrbata
LW - Parise, Sharp
D - Karlsson, Oliver-Ekman Larsson, Edler, Gudas

B- Ott, Burrows, Timmonen
I think Carter has more offensive talent than Richards, so... yeah definitely a possibility of that.

#2: I love Richards too but lets not speak of him in the same breath as either CLarke or Gilmour for quite some time, he has a LONG way to go before he matches either
Richards, captain of the Flyers (http://flyers.nhl.com/team/app/?serv...ticleid=382264), this surprises me. Wasn\'t Richards saying he didn\'t feel ready to be named captain? This isn\'t a vote of confidence regarding Simon Gagné\'s status with the team. I believe he wanted that honor http://www.dobberhockey.com/componen...50634/catid,6/. He was mentionning that he would feel honored if the Flyers asked him to be captain: http://www.canoe.com/sports/nouvelle...06-082800.html. This may be a sign that the Flyers brass don\'t believe in Gagné\'s capacities that much anymore.
