crazy that a player as useful as schneider is untradeable. i guess those teams truly realized that anaheim had zero bargaining position.. good on em.
schneider will get claimed by either LA or VAN..

geez Schneider and Bryz walk for nothing in return. Find it surprising that Anaheim couldnt get anything in return for either of them

Weird that they couldn\'t get anything for him. Where\'s the link JT, cause I can\'t find it anywhere?
yeah absolutely forgot about bryz..good point+1,bryz and schneider walk with nothing in return..uhhhhhh,burke is the most overrated GM..Toronto should not get too excited,if burke lands there..
Not weird at all IMO. His contract is horrible and virtually no one can take it on at this stage.
GO WINGS!
Waivers... holy shit.... I really hope Van grabs him, that depth will make a HUGE difference and really up our defensive game, but also a big time change to our PP. Here\'s to hoping!

Nice work. Like some of you, I really can\'t buy that Anaheim couldn\'t get anything in return. Schneider\'s contract is a bit ridiculous for some teams to take on, but I just can\'t imagine there were no trade options available. That\'s two good-to-very-good Anaheim players gone for nothing in return in less than a year. Glad my GM is Kenny Holland....

I might be missing something, but can someone tell me why Atlanta wouldn\'t be in the mix too (other than they\'re cheap cheap cheap)? How does the waiver priority work during the off-season?
Anyway, I can totally understand why a team wouldn\'t trade diddly-squat for Schneider. Why bother when you have a good change of scooping him for nothing? Burkie had no bargaining position.
I\'ll always wonder why some team wouldn\'t have made an offer for Bryz, but thats a different situation. Bryz wasn\'t an aging veteran with a $5.6M caphit. Obviously a lot of teams didn\'t think Bryzgalov was actually that good, or were otherwise deluded into thinking that their current goalies would get the job done (cough, Ottawa).

Barely (would take them almost to the cap): BUF, COL
ATL totally needs a puck moving D to tutor Bogosian on the 2nd pairing while Hainsey tutors Enstrom on the top pairing, but instead have Havelid/Exelby/Klee. If Bogosian doesn\'t make the team out of camp (highly unlikely) they\'ll also need salary to make the floor. I see this as more likely a scenario than LA, actually, since I think they can still reach the cap floor with a resigned O\'Sullivan and cheaper Ds that are available on the FA market.
Rebulding in two lifetime keepers, squads to follow ...
