Like Hedman I think he struggles to get that PP time right now but I can see why you would compare the two...
Been following Klef for a long time and see a comparable here. Prior to his season ending injury, he was really starting to blossom. Seems to be pretty underrated.
Big mobile Swedish D, untapped offensive upside, injuries derailed him a little, top pair with a fellow Swede and looking to emerge. Edm finally trending upwards and hoping hes a big part of the 5 man attack with Connor at the helm.
Looks like Sekera may gobble some PP time, but if he gets top unit I can see a 40 point season with room to grow. Feel like this is the time to buy.
Any thoughts on the bomb - am I off the mark with the Hedman comparison?

Experience is the teacher of all things.
Klefbom has never been an offensive producer, not even in his development years. Meanwhile Hedman put up huge numbers as a junior and a remarkable 0.5 PPG in his draft eligible season in the elite league. I think Klef's offence might be underrated but if you are hoping for anything more than 35 points I think you'll be disappointed.

I agree with this.
Just because Hedman didn't produce much offense in his first years in the NHL doesn't mean any player who does the same is going to turn out like Hedman. It's the same thing when people are comparing some random forward to Stamkos because they had similar rookie season in the NHL. No, it doesn't mean that other player will become Stamkos.
I don't think Klefbom has enough hockey sense to become a true #1 option at all 3 disciplines (EV, PP, PK). He should be a solid PK and solid 5v5 guy but I don't think he ever becomes much of a PP option.
Agreed, Klefbom may not be the #1PPP stud that Tampa has, but IMO that #1 ppp stud in Tampa is Stralman.
Klefbom probably is cut more from the Vlasic mode than the Hedman mode in terms of role and scoring upside.

Yeah I liken him more to the pickle than Hedman. I see Klef getting 30 points but if this Edmonton offense turns out to be the best in the league for years to come, by default he should get 40.
Klefbom is not Hedman....ever

I don't necessarily agree with the comp. but I do think he has a lot more to give offensively. IMO he's the most talented all around defender on the Oilers and thus should find himself on that top PP unit for a fair amount of time. I've been steadfast that no one dman will dominate the PPTOI this season, but I think he'll produce well regardless.
30 points is quite attainable and he has the tools that could one day see him as a perennial 40 point threat.
