MALKIN!
I am in a brand new head to head keeper league. I have the 3rd overall pick. Assuming Crosby and Ovechkin go 1 - 2 who would you guys pick next, Iginlia or Malkin? Or would there be another player that would be better than the two? I am leaning towards Iginlia. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the consensus pick here would be Malkin. If your league has positional requirements, there is always the temptation to take an elite winger like Heatley or Iginla, but I would say in this case you should still go with Malkin. He just has way too much long term upside to ignore.

Unless G\'s are worth 3 to 1 vs A\'s, then Malkin is the clear choice...
If you want Iginla that badly, trade down for 4-7th... then take him there, someone in those spots would want Malkin badly enough to give you good value.

Agreed with pudge.
Trade your pick down to 4 or 5 and get two 3rd and 4th rounders back or something similar.
The age makes the difference in this one...
Malkin\'s the guy.
Malkin , 22 years old, 105 pts next year, upside 160 pts in 5 years
Iginla , 31 years old, 95 pts next year, upside of 105 pts, could be retire in 5 years.
Malkin is a no brainer, it\'s sure you must grab him before Iginla. If you want to trade Malkin in the future, you could get back two players like Iginla.

Thanks for all of your advise. You guys are right. Taking Malkin is a no brainer. Hopefully the guys picking 1-2 don\'t pick Crosby or Ovechkin and one of them will fall to me.
Don\'t even look back. Malkin is your man.

Malkin. Way younger, better upside. Should be a top 5 player for the next 10 years.
It\'s actually possible to upgrade over Malkin by trading down but not easy. Frigging stud at 22.
If I knew for sure I could draft Price or Fluery and someone like Staal to compensate for Malkin - I might do it, but otherwise be happy in a keeper that you got one of the Holy Trinity.

Shoeless I like your thinking. At that pick Malkin is the guy over Iginla but if someone like Staal and another stud DMAN or goalie could be had, I would look to do that. Malkin is SCARY good though.It\'s actually possible to upgrade over Malkin by trading down but not easy. Frigging stud at 22.

I think you guys are insane.
#1 It depends on the rules.
so if you get points for PIM, Iggy is probably better.
also I don\'t know a single keeper league that lets you keep players for their entire lifetime. In fact most leagues you can really only hold on to a player for 4 or 5 years or the cost is too great. Again it depends on the rules. Sure Malkin is young, and yes he has huge upside, but Iggy is proven, and if you think his points are going to decline anytime soon, your on crack. Either way its pretty much a toss up. However unless I got the chance to keep them for more than 5 years, I would take Iggy. Besides he is more fun to watch.
