Schiefele at 5
Eberle at 6
Malkin at 9.5
They should all produce around the same amount of points this year so I'll go with the cheaper option and long term I would rather have Schiefele than Malkin who is 30 years old and injury prone.
Who would you prefer for a points only pool this upcoming season...

Eberle at 6
Scheifele at 5

Scheifele

Another vote for Scheifele. He's poised to take another step forward, and as much as Eberle and the McDavid factor is enticing, I see their floors as the same, and Scheifele's ceiling as just a touch higher, that and the salary difference is enough to swing me.

Argh its so hard for me to ignore the McDavid-Eberle line mates factor, and $1 million in salary is not incredibly significant in my pool. Goshdarnit

If you can afford it, I'd definitely go Malkin first then Scheifele and Eberle last. Yes, injury-prone, but Malkin is still by far the best player of the three.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
No one knows those oilers lines (or how they look by seasons end) so hoping Eberle plays all/significant time with McDavid is the wrong way to approach this IMO

In a points only league, I'd still gamble on Malkin. Sure he might miss 15 games but he'll still put up 70pts. But if he is healthy and goes off he can put up 105 and it wouldn't be shocking.
I think of it like a Letang vs Yandle thread a year and half or so ago. Sure Yandle is consistent and will very likely get you 50pts, but even an injured Letang can get that and has the very real possibility to hit 70pts.
To me the cap different is worth the way higher ceiling. Save money elsewhere and take the small gamble on one of the best players in the world.

If you can afford him under the salary cap Malkin is the best option. Unused cap space is just wasted. If you would have to drop something significant to afford Malkin than I prefer Eberle over Scheifele. Eberle is pretty much guaranteed to either play with Connor McDavid or to face 2nd d pairings while playing with Nugent-Hopkins. Either way, I expect him to have a very good season.
Malkin is my first choice here but at that cap hit I can see reasons to not take him. If you can afford him; Malkin. If cap is a concern then I'd go Scheifele.

Malkin's obviously the best player, but Scheifele gives the best bang for the buck. Scheifele for me. The difference can be better spent elsewhere, in my opinion.
I hung onto Sheifele, thanks for the advice guys. I dont really have a lot of cap dollars to throw around so Malkin wasn't a great option for me. I will try to draft Eberle if he drops really low and if I have the money for him.
