Default PPR Rookie - Luck for Cobb

Just did my first PPR draft (10 team), and went a little too heavy on the RBs in the middle rounds--rookie mistake. Feel like I need another top 24 WR to round out my team. I think I can get Cobb for Luck, but am unsure of QB value in regards to PPR leagues. Or should I stay put? Any thoughts are appreciated.

    QB - Brees
    RB - L Miller
    RB - L Murray
    WR - J Jones
    WR - A Jeffrey
    TE - J Witten
    FLEX - D Thomas

    BN/WR - J Landry
    BN/RB - J Langford
    BN/RB - A Foster
    BN/RB - R Jennings
    BN/TE - J Thomas
    BN/QB - A Luck

QB value is generally tied to two things 1) number of positions on your starting roster (ie, 2QB league or QB flex spots) & 2) whether the league includes things like 6pt passing TDs and/or points per completion. Based on the info you provided, I would anticipate that QBs in your leagues are providing pretty standard values across the board and are not as valuable as the RB/WR positions.

I wouldn't pursue this trade route of going Luck for Cobb. You are completely stacked at WR already and only have 2 starting spots plus 1 Flex...I mean, Jones, Alshon, DT & Landry are all must-starts at WR in this league. You already have Landry on the bench, who is a PPR stud, so every week you're fighting to decided which stud WR to sit. You did go RB heavy, but outside of Miller the names are a little lackluster and highly volatile. I would try to dangle Luck for an RB2 or RB3+TE to bolster your roster as Witten and Thomas are pretty boom/bust options at the moment.

I was going to say yes, because no way do you need 2 top QBs in a 10 team league. But looking at your roster….you don’t need to make this trade. I’d let Brees/Lucks value rise then do a trade.

The trade is reasonable because in a 10 team league you have maybe 15 QBs taken, and a 2nd QB just takes up a roster spot. But I would just hold on and try and get a WR that’s high ranked, but semi underperforming by week 4.

Thanks for the input guys. The league is a start 1 QB, 6pt TD pass league, but with it only being 10 teams, it kinda caps the value. And Luck fell to the 10th round (which is why I couldn't pass him up). There's a team that has expressed interest, I'm just trying to gauge his value and what I should be asking for.

Some players they have that I'd be interested in:
RB - Elliott, L Bell, Ingram
WR - Cooks, Maclin, Tate, J Gordon
    QB is Cousins.

    I involved a 3rd team for Cobb--they also have Antonio, Dez, J Matthews, & J Charles.

Neither teams have a TE I'd want. Any additional thoughts? Just hold tight?

The fact Luck fell to round 10 may kill his value right now. People will only pay so much for a 10th round guy no matter who it is. The right move for you (in my eyes) is seeing if Luck does well week 1 at staying upright, don’t really look at the stat line, just if he gets hit a lot, and judge if you can sell him or Brees. I would hold tight, but not too long into the season and hope to grab a struggling star with one of your QBs. If the star continues to struggle, it really only cost you a 10th rounder. Maybe try and trade for Charcandrick West then go for Charles later on. Doing the reverse will make for an expensive handcuff in a trade

I’m not saying you can get Charles for Luck, but maybe go that route?

Thanks for the insight. Lots of good stuff to think about. I may be able to get Ingram (+ possibly J Gordon) for Luck & Murray. I may try to go that route.

i'd go that route. LMurray i think is in for a big yr, but Ingram in a PPR is great, and Gordon could be a league winner on his own if he plays all 12 of his games. His playoff schedule is insane too.

    I would do that trade.

you have no need to trade; make sure you start Landry in FLEX every week; he is one of the most heavily targeted receivers in football.
