    Default Giroux/Strome/3rd overall vs Tavares/Eberle/Pastrnak?

Received this offer for the league in sig...

My Giroux (8.275M), Dylan Strome (0.925M) and 3rd overall ( maybe Matthews)

    For

His Tavares (5.5M), Eberle (6M) and Pastrnak (0.925M)

    Thoughts?

    F: McDavid (12.5M), Kucherov (9.5M), Boldy (7M), Kyrou (8.13M), J. Norris (7.95M), Zegras (5.95M), Kuzmenko (5.5M), Reichel (0.925M), P. Kane (2.75M), Lundell (0.925M), Rasmussen (1.46M), Rossi (0.86M).

    D: Korchinski (0.925M), Byram (3.85M), Burns (5.28M).

Giroux = Tavares for points wise - but save 2.75 million

Eberle is better than Strome right now, but Strome has a bright future and might be better then Eberle in 2-3 years. Eberle is also 6 million more expensive.

3rd overall = Pastrnak for money wise and the uncertainty of knowing whether Matthews is available at 3rd overall or not.

Therefore it is largely dependent on if you are in compete now mode or rebuild mode.

Compete now mode I take Eberle, Tavares and Pastrnak because they have a better impact this year.

If you are in rebuild, I would keep Giroux, Strome and 3rd overall. Less money ties up on this side and more potential for the future in Strome and potentially Matthews.

If you could move Eberle (during a hot streak if he's on a line with McDavid) for a cheap but high potential talent then it may be beneficial.

    Edit:

The other GM offers me to put Okposo (6M) instead of Pastrnak....does it change your thoughts?

id rather stay where you are. he just offered u a ton of cap instead of a potential young cheap stud.
id rather giroux potential comeback player of the year
extremely talented strome with a cheap salary and ton of potential playing time.
and just the chance to draft matthews!
not even close for me. best of both worlds

That's a tempting offer, but I'd be hesitant knowing that pick could be Mathews.

Strome and Matthews, although they won't produce to the levels of Eberle and Okposo this year, could be better bang for buck salary wise (I think they both could flirt with 50 points), and I would only value Eberle and Okposo in the 60 ish point range. I have Giroux and Tavares pretty equal, so it essentially comes down to Strome and possibly Matthews (at about 5 million after factoring the difference in JT and G) vs. Okposo and Eberle (at 12 million). When I think of it like that, it's not worth the 7 million extra salary imo.

Wondering what else the 3rd overall pick could be?
On the surface though, I probably stick with what I have.
