I have been following the whole Radulov debate from a distance. I have never had him on any of my fantasy squads, so his departure had little immediate effect on any of my teams. I attempted to acquire him on the cheap a couple of times, but the asking price (usually a high draft pick or solid roster player) seemed too great.
With the way the KHL has been billed (as a league to rival the NHL) losing Radulov would seem to be a huge blow in their attempts to attract other high end talent from the NHL. Perhaps this was a stab in the dark to negotiate a better transfer agreement that kind of blew up in their face, but if a mid-range talent cant be wooed back to his homeland for big bucks, I foresee a pretty low risk on worries of bigger stars in the prime of their careers taking the plunge. Seems a slap in the face of the KHL that Radulov is apparently complaining about rink and crowd sizes.
Just some of my thoughts.
