You already know my 2cents, so I'll wait for a few others before jumping in on this again.
As a Karlsson owner, I've been offered Ghost as well as Mitch Marner for my King Karlsson. Not crazy on moving him at all and I don't believe this is the best possible return I can get for Karlsson.
Having said that, my team is in a drastic re-build (NOT TEAM IN SIG) having finished near the bottom in an extremely deep multi cat league. Not sure I can reap the rewards of having Karlsson on my team as I wait for my limited young talent to improve.
Considering Ghost's potential this year and/or down the road, how much more than Marner is a reasonable ask to capitalize on Karlsson's value?
This seems far more like a real life trade than a Fantasy trade considering how deep the league is. What would/could Ottawa consider reasonable return for Karlsson in real life? Marner, Gost, + (maybe a mid round 1st rounder this year?)? Maybe a marginal top 6 forward with upside like Atkinson?
Just one of those pain in the ass situations where my best player is head and shoulders better than my 2nd best player which is forcing me to consider turning my best player into 2, maybe 3 VERY good players in the near future?
Thanks for the ear.

This is a great example of why I don't like rebuilds. My advice is to keep Karlsson and stop rebuilding. Just being honest here.

I was going to give you some good advice before I noticed I'm in the same league with you. Please allow me to make an offer to you...
I don’t think Ghost will come close to being a 60pt a season defenseman. He was sheltered like nuts, and this is a team with Sanheim and Provorov coming into it. I just never saw anything in his game where I was overly amazed at. Karlsson and Klingberg came in and you could see instantly they could dominate a game offensively, Ghost….it’s almost like the kid who’s not good but always scores in your beer league.
So, I’m not buying any stock in Ghost unless is super cheap.
Marner may not even make the team (I really think he does, but there’s still a big chance he doesn’t). I 100% think this is a bad trade for you.
Now trading Karlsson this yr makes sense, buy low sell high. But you need like MacKinnon+ for me to even think of a trade. And Karlsson is like 26yrs old, not like he’s a 30yr old and you want to cash in before he declines.
Easy reject, and I would tell the guy to come back with a real offer.

I think Karlsson should be part of your rebuild.
Points only keeper league
7 teams
28 keepers
Weekly line up: 12 F / 6 D / 2 G
Goalie stats: W=2 / SO=2
This - I don't think any team needs to blow it all up and start from scratch 'ever'. Personally start trading and building around a few key pieces... buy low sell high and when the time is right move a KArlosson for a huge over payment and then you are in business
P.S. this isn't an overpayment
Experience is the teacher of all things.
The consensus agrees with me. Have you been talked off the cliff yet?
Courious to hear what offer Jouko gives you after this.

If you are looking to take a step down that ladder, I would look for a better return then that. Personally I'd keep EK.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
OK. Validates my concerns. Thanks all.
Declined.
Although I understand less about the whole not believing in Re-builds. but that was less so my point of the thread.
Cheers. Rep spread.
Your roster looks solid and young and in no need of rebuilding, just good drafting to fill out the rest of your team season by season. Glad you declined.
Reread the post. Nevermind.
The best return for Karlsson is the one that you'd be comfortable with. Sounds stupid, dumb but you're trading the best D in the world. Unless you feel comfortable with the package you're receiving, don't trade him.
