Paul Kelly: \"Radulov wants to play in the NHL\"

Just listened to Paul Kelly on the Bill Watters show. He stated that Radulov wants to return to the NHL.

Not a direct quote, but to paraphrase:

\"I have spoken to both the player and his agent regarding this issue. Radulov is a young guy who returned home for reasons, some of which have not been reported, and now is the centre of this (KHL-NHL) controversy. I believe that he wants to return to the NHL. He has tried out the KHL already, played a couple of games and has a desire to return. It is up to the NHL, KHL, IIHF and Nashville Predators to make that happen. We are actively working on it.\"

I\'m sure it is available on the AM640 website, but the long and short of it seemed to be that Kelly believes that Rads has had a change of heart and the NHLPA is working towards bringing him back.

This whole thing is as best as I can remember, and I may be filtering it through my desparate desire for Radulov to return (landed him for Brunette!!) and help me win my league.

We\'ll see what happens, but things seem to be looking a little less bleak for us Rads owners!

Yeah my thoughts are that this would make a wonderful TV drama for fantasy hockey players - talk about capturing a niche market. If you already have him - be happy about this news - if you don\'t have him - be careful about how much you pay for him - he ain\'t even close to coming back yet in my mind.

The ole\' memory is not too bad. My original post is pretty close, now that I have gone back for another listen. Kelly states:
\"I have spoken to both the player and his agent and he made a decision... and now we are working with both of them to get him out of it, frankly. I have it on extremely good authority that the player wants to return and play in the NHL.\"

He went on to say that he believes that Rads wants to play in the NHL in the long term. That may indicate that he might not return this season, but will in the future. That would suck for those of us in contention this season, but I guess today there is more hope than there was yesterday that he may indeed return this season.

My league, unfortunately, gives me no reasonable provision to keep the guy if he\'s not playing.

I\'m amazed at anyone who moved Rads for anything more than a bag of pucks... it must be a function of league rules that allow for the stashing of players over 2-3 year periods possible... still a first rounder? lunacy...

just drafted him 204 overall in salary cap dynasty league, have quite a few extra picks so I took a flyer on him. If he doesnt come back he can sit on my farm til he retires from the khl.

I heard that too. What I took from it though was that he wants to return to the NHL later. As in when he;s close to 30 and can be a dominate player.
