I'd trade the #10 overall pick for Barzal. Unless by miracle someone like Keller is still available.
Team in sig. My format is multi-cat points and awards points for Goals, Assts, ST Pts, PMs, Hits, Blks, SOG, FOW
I have an OGM sniffing around my #10 pick in this year's prospect draft. He has Barzal, which begs the question, is giving up the 10th pick this year worth acquiring the WHL stud? Are we going to see him enter the league as a winger with potential to play with JT or is he going to be the 2nd line C?
Matthews, Laine, Pulj, Dubois, Tkachuk, Sergachev, Keller, Juolevi all off the board.
I'd trade the #10 overall pick for Barzal. Unless by miracle someone like Keller is still available.

My odds of the following Islanders prospects making the team this year:
Barzal - 35%
MDC - 45%
Ho Sang - 20%
Barzal is a center, not sure if he's played any time on the wing. IMO he would be wasting his time in the juniors. He has a much potential as the 6-10 fantasy picks this year, and is a year closer.
I have a soft spot for Logan Brown but as Audiopile says Barzal is a year further along so is more appealing IMHO
Experience is the teacher of all things.
I would swap #10 for Barzal pretty quickly.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I would do it, but if you keep the pick, I would go with Jost.
I really like Barzal, but I think there's a good chance this goes one of two ways.
1) He blows them away at camp and earns his keep during a nine game trial thus becoming a top middle six winger/centre
2) Either he doesn't show up at camp or during a trial and get's sent back to junior. At which point I think we see a year in the AHL follow as well.
So he's either coming this year or not until 2018-19
End of the day though, I'd make that swap. When he does make it, his passing and skating will produce a ton of points.

Having secured Barzal, I have now decided to see about trading back up into the high 2nd round so I can still hopefully secure the player I was going to take at 10 (a certain Russian tender) that I think will still be there at 12 or 13.
Looks like the cost of moving up to 12 is going to be Anthony DeAngelo. Need to open a spot for Barzal on my farm so this makes a little sense. How do we feel about this?
If that certain Russian Tender is one of two Certain Russian Tenders... there are two I'd be willing to move DeAngelo for. I'm Bearish on DeAngelo, offload while there's value.
