Verdict: This is a landslide win for New Jersey. Even if the Edmonton Oilers are, as rumoured, poised to sign left winger Milan Lucic as a free agent, there is no justification for the Oilers to only get Larsson in return for Hall. Strictly in terms of asset management, it’s unacceptable.

Can anyone honestly say New Jersey's rebuild is further behind than Edmonton's? Hard to make a legitimate argument of that.

I won't lie, I don't watch a lot of Devils games so I dont get to watch a lot of Adam Larsson. His numbers that are seen online are far from stellar, far from what the Devils thought they were drafting I'd say.

That being said, games aren't won on paper, they are won on the ice. Oilers fans know this first hand. On paper, their team looks really good (or at least they should be) but as we have come to find out over the years, their team on the ice isn't very good.

Maybe Larsson makes them a better team because of what he does on the ice, and less of what he puts on paper. I am hoping this is the case.

Sad part is, from all the rumors regarding the Isles and Oil, Hamonic was a must and they settled for Larsson? Snow couldn't put a better package together than that?
