Source says Andrew Shaw is asking for at least $4.5 million AAV. Moving him might be more realistic than moving Kruger. FLA a possibility.

That's my point. It was widely speculated that they moved TT and Bickell to open space for Shaw. Maybe they should have waited to find out Shaw's demands before trading TT to dump Bickell. It's horrible asset management to trade TT to move Bickell to sign Shaw to only find out Shaw has ridiculous contract demands. Carolina wouldn't wait another week to make the trade? They couldn't of called Shaw's agent and get an idea how much it would cost to resign him. Hell, moving Bickell first gave Shaw leverage since there is now more space available.

Bickell had to go either way. The plan was to re-sign Shaw, now they won't be doing that obviously. They still had to move Bickell's contract though.
