I think Puljujarvi is a huge wildcard in fantasy circles right now. To me, he's being undervalued because of all the hype around Matthews/Laine. He's like the forgotten child. I think Puljujarvi's offensive upside isn't far behind, at least in the limited action I've seen of him. Honestly up until the last 5 months I thought he was better than Laine.

For the record, Marner is my favorite out of the 4 I posted. But it's such a tough call, especially given FOWs.
Until it happens, I think it's probably best to just assume that Puljujarvi will be a winger.

Agreed with Puljujarvi being a wildcard. I definitely think he's wildly undervalued. Frankly I think his offensive upside is actually higher than Laine, Laine is just a better shooter and gets hype for it. The only time that Puljujarvi has been outscored by Laine (I'm speaking about points here also just as an FYI) is early in the season, when it's been speculated that he was going through a bit of a growth spurt. He outscored him at the WJC, he had one less point and goal but better PPG numbers post WJC, and better PPG in the playoffs. Laine will be the better scorer, but I think Pulj's offensive talent as a whole is better.

I think personally my ranking is goes Marner, Puljujarvi, Strome, Connor. I've been a critic of Strome for a long time (since before he was drafted, there's no anti-Leaf or Leaf bias here). Though I'd have to think with these categories, Strome might win out of the four simply because he'll get huge FOW opportunities the others won't.

I'd take Puljujarvi first, despite not being a center.

And that hurts to say, coming from a big Marner fan.

Don't want to dig up an old thread...but curious how people feel now that we know Puljujarvi is an Oiler? I have a dilemma in one of my pools to choose either Marner or Puljujarvi....I'm torn.

    Thanks everyone!

As I said in my original reply, it would depend on where he was drafted. I made that list assuming he'd be in CBJ.

Today, with Puljujarvi in Edmonton, I'd bump him ahead of Kyle Connor to third on my list.

Also agree with Bass56 on this. Edge to Strome due to face-offs, even though I think Marner may be the more productive player - slightly.
I'd also give the edge to Pulj over Connor due to the McDavid factor.
