Barker vs Russell

If you were given a chance to either of these prospects in a keeper league which would it be? I like the fact that Barker has such high offensive potential, but he is regularly injured and I think this continues to hold him back. Offensively, is he another Eric Brewer? I also like Kris Russel, and I think offensively his ceiling is higher, but I\'m concerned about his size...but wonder if this is is a non issue in the new nhl? In a keeper league where all stats are counted and we keep all our players every year, who do you think is a better pick?

Based on thread from a few days ago....does anyone know what the chances of russel makin the team this year are?

Dont be so quick to move Barker, Give him one full season with chicago and lets see what he can do. He\'s big, fast, strong, wicked shot and a great PP D. He\'s still young and didnt even play half a season last year, I think he will do good this season.

I am inclined to agree with yzerman19. Barker had a rough start to his career with injury. I am concerned with Russell\'s size. He is not a big player. Considering his youth, and size, he could start off his career the same way the Brule did, and Barker for that matter, injured. I would be inclined to wait and see, albeit that if Russell does make the team and play well, you probably won\'t be able to get him. Barker could still put it together though.

Russell\'s size is concerning, in my mind, for what that is worth.

Barker\'s the better all-around player, but his injury history alone would have me choose Russell as intangibles very rarely translate in the fantasy world.

Russell. I\'m probably biased because I\'ve never been a Cam Barker fan. Russell was absolutely fantastic last year in the WHL, the type of defenseman that can take over games. I don\'t think he will make the Jackets this year, though.
