How far do either of Carolina's 2 first round picks (13 & 21) go as far as currency in acquiring a Matt Murray or Andrei Vasilesky? Or are they more in the market for a UFA? Other options might be Joonas Korpisalo, James Howard or Darcy Kuemper?

Agreed. They should pursue Reimer, sign him for like 3 years max. A duo of Lack and Reimer isn't that bad, and they won't have to give up assets that they really need for their rebuild.

Not very far. Carolina would not be giving up both picks to for either goalie and I don't think one is enough. Expansion rules will tell the true tale and likely decrease the market value on goalies but I'd say the price on either of these two goalies is higher heading into the draft.

Whoever it ends up being minding the net in Carolina, they could be a huge fantasy asset. Their goaltending was horrendous last year and if they can get someone in there who can be at least league average, we could see a breakout season. Reimer could be a great fit. Carolina was one of the leagues top possession teams. They were great at SA/GP we could see a Dubnyk like situation there. Freddie Andersen or James Reimer are my guesses. I think Ward signs in TO on a cheap deal to be a stop gap while the continue their rebuild.

I hear they're pursuing Ryan Miller strongly. They've had great luck with former Canucks goalies. Willing to give up the farm for him.

I don't think they need to trade for a young goalie since they already have Alex Nedeljkovic in their system. He's probably a couple of years away, but was excellent at the world juniors. All the Canes need is a stop-gap goalie in the meantime.

No need to waste trading away first rounders on goalies.

For those picks as "currency in acquiring a Matt Murray or Andrei Vasilesky" Unless more is added I doubt it happen.

With Bob's injury history and Korpisalo's great play I do not see CBJ moving him. He is much better as insurance.

Howard... I do not think anyone wants without Detroit taking back at least 50% salary, he has been below league average for a bit now.

Kuemper would be a smart play, I'd like to see that.

I agree with all the Riemer idea's too.

Goalie market is pretty saturated, so as long as they don't sign Ward they should already see improvement

The more I think about it, unless they make a big move it's more likely they try to bring back Ward at a discount rate.
