Scheifele May look at somewhere between 5-6mil over a couple of years, not eating up too many of his big UFA years.
Hoffman may only get 4-4.5 after a bit of a down year, but I don't see him biting under 3.5.
Agree with Butch on Okposo getting 7mil on the market.
Schwartz is another one I see at 6mil, but Stl may try and keep it down with the other guys they have to pay and manage to swing 5 mil.
Krug I don't have a great read on. Maybe the D fallback of 4-5?
Jones I could see looking at Rielly's deal as a comparable. 5mil over 6 years kind of thing.
If Schultz gets a contract he will be happy. Likely no higher than 2mil.
Mrazek I would see about the same as what Howard has. Somewhere in the 5mil range. Maybe a little lower if trading Howard seems to be proving impossible.

    Schiefele 8/42
    Hoffman? 3/15
okposo 7/42 or 8/42 if stays with isles. I'd say 50/50
    Schwartz? 8/48
    Krug 3/15
    Seth Jones? 8/38
    Justin Schultz? 1/1.5
mrazek. He's tough. Because of JH. I'll guess 2/8

I'm guessing the first number is the amount of years, and not the dollar value per year?

Makes sense. I agreed with most of the numbers you put out in that case.

Scheifele 6 years, 36 million. I'd say the full eight years, but with a six year deal he stands to sign one more long term contract afterwards. Not a lot of forwards signing more than a 4 year deal at 31, but plenty of 6-7 year deals to 29 year olds.

Hoffman 3 years, 15 million. His down second half hurt him here. If he had kept up his pace from the second half of 14-15 and the first half of 15-16, he'd probably be getting at least 6mil per year, and a longer term.

Okposo 7 years, 49 million (maybe add in another 3.5 million or a extra year if he moves out of Long Island) Someone's gonna pay him, but if its not the Islanders, I could see there being considerable growing pains, leading to a rough first half next year.

Schwartz 7 years, 42 million. I see the Blues giving the extra year here, but with the same mentality as Scheifele's contract.

Krug 8 years, 44 million. The Bruins want to lock him up, and he'll point at the dollars the Islanders handed Leddy and Boychuck. Comparable role, but he's worked on two relatively discounted contracts through the last few years.

Seth Jones 6 years, 30 million. His production has been just a shade lower than Dougie Hamilton's, so I'd expect a relatively similar contract. Especially with Columbus using him in his current role, and the dollars being spent on the rest of their D corps.

Justin Schultz 1 year, 1.75 million. I mean, sure beats the PTO his was going to get before playing *marginally* better in Pittsburgh, right?

Mrazek 3 years, 13.5 million. Along the lines of Talbot? Maybe a shade less than this, or (if they can move Jimmy) more years and closer to a Dubnyk-style contract?

I am not sure if thats really the case. Had a similar thing when the board allowed me a max of 14.2m/y for a "regular" player and it wasnt like I had forgotten to change his status, he was just barely a 3rd liner. For my star UFA (Stamkos) they "only" allowed my like 10m, although that was enough to make him sign a new deal.

Oh and while being on this topic, anyone noticed that older star players keep asking for the moon ($8+m) while still under contract when their reputation dropped to "very good" and then lower it to like 4m as soon as they hit UFA?
