I don't see it happening. I feel like this would be similar to a few years ago when the Bruins and Leafs were going to swap Kessel for Kaberle, but the deal fell through because both teams thought the first round pick was coming to them. (Kessel + 1st / Kaberle vs. Kaberle +1st for Kessel)

What I am trying to get at with that analogy, is that I see both teams valuing their own players too much to get something done there.

Montréal would be foolish to trade Subban for this.. Draisaitl would be awesome, but Klefbom would be far from awesome..

Would you trade a 26 year old .75 PPG Norris Trophy winner for that return? I wouldn't.

We will know shortly though if Subban will be moved as his no-trade clause kicks in July 1.

Hall + Klefbom for PK and 9th was getting a lot of play on Montreal radio over the past week - many on team 690AM would make this deal for the all star in Hall.

I have to think that some teams would offer way better than this to have a player like Subban.

They don't need another LW though... They need a C and Leon would be a fantastic prize. This is a bold move and I think both teams benefit equally.

On on a personal note, I have to choose between keeping Karlsson or Subban.. Easy decision in my books but if Subban went to EDM, I'd have to keep him. PK dishing to McDavid would be just too sweet of prospect.

I think it's more likely Subban is traded to Pittsburgh for Malkin.

It would be a mistake for the Habs to trade Subban. Without him, Habs D is really bad.

Trade Subban, who takes his spot playing 26+ minutes a night, his spot on the top PP, ability to throw out at points on the PK? Who replaces his 160+ shots, 50+ points. Who, when they make the playoffs again, can the Habs task with sticking to guys like Crosby, Oveechkin and other star players in an effort to shut him down?

This is the same as the Leafs and trading #1 overall. The deal has to be a complete blow away for the Habs to take it. Dmen like Subban don't go on trees and there isn't one in the organization ready to assume all of that responsibility. Oh and also shoots right.

You want to talk about a deal the Habs may do? 4th overall, Nurse, Draisaitl for Subban. Maybe ludicrous, maybe not, but I deal both sides would be hesitant to do. The Oilers need to draft their franchise dman and stop with the wishful thinking that they can just acquire one easily through trade. Teams don't give up their top dmen like Subban.
