It seems Radulov\'s case will go to a third party.

In the mean time he can play in IIHF events, such as the Champions League.

Looked around the Russian press to see how they are reporting this and it is pretty much the same, minus the Medvedev interviews.

However, there is more news here.

    http://www.allhockey.ru/news/35620/

allhockey.ru report that they have learned that the case of Radulov will be decided in a North American court whereas the cases of Loktionov, Voinov and Mayorov will be decided in Russian courts. There is no source cited for this, and it is unclear whether or not this has been agreed upon by both sides, so treat it as an unconfirmed report.

Comment: If this is the case, the chances of Radulov being forced to honor is contract increase, but the chances of Loktionov, Voinov and Mayorov to be in North America decrease.

    =955&cHash=45127dcd31]IIHF press release

Some additional information from the IIHF press release on this:

\"The meeting was attended by representatives from associations and leagues from Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland\"

\"The participating national member associations and leagues expressed the wish to sign a separate player transfer agreement with the KHL and as soon as possible initiate discussions with the NHL and the NHLPA about formulating a new player transfer agreement between the IIHF, KHL and the NHL & NHLPA\"

Comment: Which suggests these countries may very well be on board with whatever agreement the NHL and the KHL strike

\"As of today, the KHL will continue to respect all legally valid contracts signed with NHL clubs and also all legally valid contracts signed with IIHF clubs, subject to the NHL not signing KHL registered players under legally valid contracts\"

Comment: Cease fire for now, but a potential sticking point is in the wording \"KHL registered players under legally valid contracts\" rather than the \"all legally valid contracts\" language used regarding the NHL.

\"The European IIHF member associations formulated an ambition to create a standard player contract in order to strengthen the validity of contracts in IIHF affiliated leagues\"

Comment: Interesting to see if this materializes, and if it does whether such contracts would still allow for \'buyout clauses\' or \'NHL release clauses\' - the NHL standard contracts do not.

Final Comment: I wouldn\'t be surprised if unofficially Bob Nicholson served as the go-between between the NHL and KHL here.

I don\'t know if it will be a such a slam dunk that Daly and the NHL will agree to allow it to go to a 3rd party. They feel they are right, and have not been willing to negotiate, but by allowing a 3rd party to decide, the NHL would be giving up their hard line stance on the issue, and with that, control as well. If the 3rd party decides to uphold the move of Radulov to the KHL, then it would be precedent setting, and could prove very costly in the future, as many more players will look to Russia and the its tax free dollars. That being said, the other way to look at it is that the 3rd party will rule in favour of the NHL, Radulov is forced to return, plays well for Nashville, or gets traded, has a great year, and is then rewarded with a multi year deal and has a long, and successful NHL career. As a Radulov owner, I am hoping for the latter.

If the arbitrator of the Radulov case is a North American court, I doubt the NHL has much to worry about ... Like both sides noted a few weeks ago, the KHL never wins in North American courts and the NHL never wins in Russian courts.

and hopefully the commish\'s dynasty draft keeps going until after this is resolved so i don\'t trade rads for nothing before finding out he\'ll still be donning the puke yellow and silver.

So if Rads comes back...does he play in Nashville, or does he float?

Will Nashville feel forced to trade him to a bigger hockey market?

Something\'s fishy. I don\'t know why the KHL would withdraw those complaints of theirs. It\'s slightly iffy. *shrug*

Any idea of the timeframe for the court/arbitration process?

If it is in the courts, this may drag out for months, especially with appeals, but an arbitrator may be a different story entirely. As stated above, it really seems to depend on where this process unfolds. But if it is in North America, I think this bodes very well for us long suffering Radulov owners. I have come close to dealing him for basically nothing, but now the chances of him being forced to honour his contract seem much more likely.
Who knows, maybe the KHL is willing to let Rads go, along with the rest of their complaints, in order to move on.

Have there been any comments out of Radulov\'s camp about this turn of events?
