From a Syracuse Crunch beat writer ...
The Jackets have invited Shane Willis to camp. He only played one game in the AHL last year due to a neck injury, and had one relatively productive NHL season with the Canes in 00-01 (20+24+45).
There are also extensive comments from Jackets assistant GM Chris MacFarland regarding Legein. He essentially says there is nothing more to the story than Legein losing his passion for the game, and that \'retirement\' is too strong a word in this case. I own Legein in one league and intend to keep him for at least another year. In my other league he was recently dealt for a 3rd round pick, a bargain price if he comes back.

re: legein - I doubt he would be more than a 40-point agitator and I\'m not sure he would be a bargain unless you really need PIM\'s. He\'s not owned in any of my three keepers and would not have been drafted this year either. But admittedly PIM is not a cat in any of the three.

40 p. + good PIM would make him an elite 4th liner in both my leagues. And until next summer he doesn\'t take up a roster spot anyways B)
