Sundin hasn\'t signed with a team b/c the Leafs told him he wasn\'t part of their plans moving forward. He is still trying to wrap his head around not playing for the Leafs and living in Toronto - his difficulties/emotions around this decision are compounded by his newly married status and wish to start a family - as he\'s not sure he wants to \'start over\' someplace new for a year or two or whether its worth it given the instability it may cause him, his wife and their future.

That being said he could indulge his other interests/hobbies for a month or two and become a mercenary with a team for the remaining balance of the season - and not have to put down roots but simply earn big $$$ and win a cup.

Yardie\'s explanation, although nowhere near as cool as Notubble\'s infinitely more intriguing conspiracy theory, seems to be a bit closer to the mark. I guess only Mats, Cliff and Joe really know for sure.

Although, I must admit, I\'d like the chance to whup him at poker...

well, that was one of the most thought out posts i have seen on sundin in a while. However, i was merely attempting to bring a little fun/humor/lightness to the whole Sundin saga.
