Roto league rankings tool

Just as a public service announcement: I\'ve been tinkering with a spreadsheet that ranks players based on their value in roto leagues, based on various league parameters, projections and reasonable assumptions. It\'s a pretty good way to evaluate a players\' across-the-board contributions, and I think it would be a very good tool in auto-drafts. I obviously intend to find out.

If anybody is interested in seeing the results for their league parameters, just let me know and I\'ll fire you off a top-whatever list.

So far it\'s for skaters only. Let me know how many owners are in the league, what positions there are, and what stat categories you count. I\'ve spent some time building it up so it includes even bizarro-stats (:P ) like hits, ATOI, etc.

Hey C-nuck, what positions are there and how big are the rosters? This has a huge effect on the rankings. I don\'t want to send the whole spreadsheet (it\'s approaching 10 megs now), but I\'ll happily fire you a summary.

I\'m assuming this is for an un-named dynasty league with 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 1 util, and say an average of 5 bench?

Yeah, actually a pretty interesting one... your super deep league broke my spreadsheet because the average C became a \"-\".

Now I gotta figure out how to deal with negative points there... get back to you soon.

Ack, one more bug I found. Hold on!

OK, fixed. It turns out using shooting percentage can be a bad way to predict SOG if a player missed part of the season. Anyway, it\'s much more reasonable now. Heater sits at #6.

Do you have a copy of this sheet that can be changed depending on the league. I have a few drafts coming up in the next couple weeks, but of course they have differing #\'s of GM and scoring categories.

It\'s a 16 team H2H league.

Positions are:

3C, 3LW, 3RW, 3F, 4D, 3UTIL, 2G, 9BN, 5IR

Categories are:

G, A, P, +/-, PIM, PPG, PPA, PPP, SHG, SHP, GWG, SOG, FW, GS, W, L, GA, GAA, SA, SV, SV%, SHO
