I'm not really sure why you're arguing this. Nobody cares about the history of the franchises when discussing the current state of the teams. Toronto is definteitly at the bottom of the barrel with Edmonton right now. Sensfan19 wasn't talking about what each team did 30 years ago. Clearly. He was obviously just joking saying they should be moved.

Hes not wrong. Their current team is a joke and has been for a long time now. That's what he meant. Again he was not talking about that they did before we were all born.

Franchise also includes the minor league team in my eyes. And there would be some that think any sales of products could be based off of the franchises success (some don’t and I get that). When I hear Franchise, I think everything that incorporates the team, and when I see that I don’t think the Leafs are a joke, but one of the stronger Franchises.

The NHL is terrible this yr, and has been a black hole of disappointment for a while. The last time I would say the “hockey Leaf Fans” (not the bandwagonners or the ones that were short sighted in hockey terms) weren’t proud of the team since before Sundin left. And they just used their financial muscle to buy players.

The team also hasn’t had a competent GM since Pat Quinn was forced to step down to my knowledge (minus Shanahan).

I am aware the LEAFS team has been bad, but the franchise to me has not.
