Thought on this big deal? (REP)

For the NSH team in my sig, I have a big deal in the works where I send out Giroux and Anderson. I have no real shot of winning this year as one team loaded up and has only lost twice this season.

The complete deal would be:
Giroux, Anderson, Dvorak, Koekkoek, D Pouliot, Hawryluk and 5th

for

Larkin, Werenski, Barber, C Wideman, Puempel, Scrivens and two 2016 1st



Would the trade be worth it if I can use the 1st round picks, along with two others I have, to trade up to 1st overall? I am trying to gauge interest from the bottom teams on that right now.

I like this trade. Scrivens end isn't great but the assets your getting a vcery tempting. Plus you got great goaltending on the farm, I would pull the trigger.

If you cannot trade those two 1st round picks where do you project them to be around? Those picks are what would sway the trade for me.
but my initial thought (if those picks arent top 3) i think you are giving up too much value

As of right now they would be 22 and 19. The picks I already have are 8 and 16 at the moment.

Hmm...that changes things a little. Obviously the intent here is to get Matthews. Unless the GM with potential #1 overall has a farm resembling the remnants of a farm in Pripyat, Ukraine circa late 1980's, I cant see him willing to shipout Matthews. To me if I'm the 'Matthews' owner, at least one pick needs to be in the top 5...more likely top 3. So unless you absolutely know that he would move 4-for-1st overall, I won't do it. My previous comment, I was under the impression the picks were higher.

I tend to agree. In a dynasty setting, Giroux for Larkin\Werenski\22nd overall is about right (maybe a little low, but not bad). That leaves Anderson\Dvorak\Pouliot+ for Barber\Wideman\Puempel\Scrivens\19th overall.

Not enough value in my eyes.

You don't give up Claude Giroux so you can grab the 19th and 22nd pick in the entry draft. Full stop.

I would not make this trade if I were you.. Not enough for Giroux in my opinion.. I also like D.Pouliot and Dvorak.. Anderson is also a solid goalie to own..

I don't like this trade either, even if you are considering a rebuild. Giroux should net you more than that; at least the picks should both be in the top 15 or the prospects being offered be closer to being NHL ready. Only Larkin is there yet.
