Default Trouba for Hamonic this summer?

From Today's Slapshot, which quotes Darren Dreger on TSN 1040:

On the notion of whether or not a Jacob Trouba for Travis Hamonic trade is in the ballpark:

“It’s in the ballpark. I just think that the Winnipeg Jets are still a little unsure as to what they have in Jacob Trouba. I think that they think they’ve got a real good young defenseman here. I think that they’re terrified of what his contract is going to have to look like (laughs) in the future.

“Look, you can always bridge and go through all of that nonsense, but a six-year term at what – 6.5, 6.75 – I mean, that’s a lot of money invested in a player that you’re still trying to get a handle on.

“I think it’s a considerable long shot that Jacob Trouba gets traded between now and Monday. And if Cheveldayoff is willing to consider that, and the Hamonic situation is still a good fit, then they do that in the summer if it’s still there.”

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

I like that idea. Hamonic would be a good fit in Winnipeg and NYI would add another young piece to their young team. If they can't agree to a 1 for 1 deal they probably swap prospects they may have soured on or have extra depth that the other team may like. Not sure who those would be.

I think WPG might prefer a LH dman for Trouba. Maybe a 3 way trade with another team involved could happen.

I don't see the Islanders doing that kind of deal. Hamonic is such a critical part of their team, granted Trouba could grow into that but still needs a year or two of seasoning.

Yes Travis wants out but he did sign a long term contract...

just fudging it but Marco Scandella seems a better fit for contract and experience
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
