Tavarez ++ vs Backstrom ++

I have a deal on the table, but I'm not sure what to do.

It's for the league in my sig. I'm currently 8th and don't have any chances to finish in the top 2 (even top 3).

The guys is second place send me this trade

His : Tavarez + Shatty + Halak vs

My : Backstrom + Ghost + Quick

For me I'm looking at the best top 6 possible.

Currently my top 6 is : Crosby, Backstrom, Stamkos, Voracek, Kessel and Quick

So basically it's Backstrom + Quick vs Tavarez + Shatty

I always had a weak defense in this league (for me the offense wins fantasy hockey). Backstrom and Tavarez should have about the same production for few years. So in a points-only league do you think it's better to keep a goalie or a d-man ? (goal-heavy for d-man)

The top goalies fluctuate a lot and I think it's easier to redraft good goalies than d-man, but his Shatty a really good keeper in a 60 players keeper league.

I love JT but I'm not sure it's worth a downgrade in Quick to Halak.

Last yr, Quick got 90 pts in your set up (36W, 6SO)
Shattenkirk, when put over 82 games, would have scored 76pts (12G, 52A).

Without getting into too much detail, I’d say the tradeoff isn’t worth the drop off of Quick to Shattenkirk.

Backstrom=Tavares in a 1pt/g and assist too by the way.
