Default Will Mark Streit get traded at the deadline??

Boy do I hope so! He has gone from 45+ pt D to completely worthless due to Ghost's emergence and he aint reclaiming his top PP role. Hoping that he gets moved, but not sure which teams would add him or if his contract is too much a hindrance.

Any thoughts on chances he gets shipped and possible destinations?

The guy has a 5.25mill cap hit, his salary this yr is 5.75mill, and isn’t a FA until 2017-18 season. I would be very shocked if he was traded.

I could see Streit traded but the Flyers will need to retain some $$.

    I'll speculate.
    Streit to WPG.

    to WPG: Streit (L)
    to PHI: Byfuglien (R)
*If Winnipeg falls out of playoff contention.
Both players jump right into each others spots (like Myers/Bogo did last year).

Winnipeg gets a top four LH defenseman for few more years signed and goes into 2016-2017 with top four of:
    Enstrom (L) - Myers (R)
    Streit (L) - Trouba (R)

Philly gets a RH defenseman, which they need, tries to make playoffs on his expiring contract - possibly re-sign him (but PHI has so many D in pipeline, that they may use $$$ for UFA forward):
    Schultz (L) - Byfuglien (R)
    Del Zotto (L) - Gudas (R)
    Ghostisbehere (L) - Medvedev (L)

Right now Buff is part of a R/R pairing in WPG... and Streit is part of a L/L pairing in PHI.
To me... this one makes a lot of sense if PHI feels they have a shot at playoffs.
Even if he doesn't re-sign, this clears cap space for PHI.
It clears cap space and replaces lost Buff for WPG.

No, there are quite a few D in the pipeline now. They don't need to wrestle with that cap hit. They'll likely have to let Goligoski walk.

Perhaps had Klingberg not emerged, Streit might have been more attractive.

The Flyers cannot retain any salary right now, as per the CBA teams are limited to three retained salary contracts each season. They already have retained salaries for:
    Lecavalier
    Schenn
    Grossmann

After this season Schenn, Grossman and Lecavalier (assuming he retires) will all come off the books and the flyers can make a trade involving the retainment of salary, but I'd guess that is more likely later next season.

I would say philly would need to add something else to this. But It would be a nice swap. Ideally there would be a sign and trade, but NHL doesn’t really do that.

That is not currently possible as we are retaining portions of three contracts already.

    Right, the max is three...

I like P7's idea... this would intrigue me...

Hextall will try to trade him but the Flyers won't be eating coin. Someone would have to take Streit with his contract, which could be a tough sell.

Ok was not aware of the Flyers situation. Streit contract will be tough to sell.

If a Byf trade occured, the Jets will ask for young player and/or pick(s) I think.

This also ignores that Byff isn't signed and PHI isn't in contention. I give this zero chance.

EDIT: I was just reading that extension talks between WPG and Ladd have broken off. Could mean that WPG will have another go at locking Byf up, which is what they should do.

Regarding his fantasy outlook, is WPG ultimately the best spot for him? I have been thinking of potential landing spots and not sure if it is a good or bad thing for him to re-sign in the peg
