Rumors have it that Chris Stewart will be shipped out of Anaheim in the very near future.

I just cant imagine why someone would trade for him. Maybe Colorado thinks they can rekindle the good old days? He was a solid, up and coming power forward for them, then devolved into something unrecognizable with the Blues and Sabres. Had a brief flurry of decent play with the Wild after the trade. But this season in Anaheim, which was supposed to be his big comeback season, playing with studs again, has been a calamity.

I think Simmonds/Stewart are good friends and PHI just cleared out softies Vinny & Gagner.
Sometimes teams think a player will have renewed motivation to join a brother/friend.

A change of scenery and he may become a useful asset again. Will we see 30-30 ish numbers again? Probably not. Can he be a 15-15/20-20 100PIM guy? I think so. But 7 minutes a game isn't going to get you that.

I would be alright with this. But I read that Hextall will not trade any of his youth/prospects/picks for a older player. The writer that wrote the report made it sound that they were interested/discussing Drouin.

My guess is the Canadiens.

They re-assigned Carr and Andrighetto to St. John's, who were both playing reasonably well.
They re-called Jacob De La Rose, who is more of a defensive player.

The Canadiens and Ducks have a history of trading with each other.

It seems like another low risk type move that Marc Bergevin would make.

I'm not totally impressed with Michael Raffl, think he's more of a 3rd line winger.

I agree here. But I don't think the Flyers have anything that they are willing to trade that Anaheim would be interested in. Hextall will likely be very stingy in any deals involving veterans. He just finally got cap relief... he will not waste it away quickly. Or at least I hope.

Well, Stewart fetched STL a 2nd round pick from the Wild last year.
I think his value is (obviously) decreasing, but teams would probably part with a 3rd or 4th for his rental services this year.
I think PHI can afford that... also because I could see a guy like Stewart really take-on a role if he got to play with a good friend (Simmonds).
I've actually been kind of hoping to see if Stewart would ever sign with PHI.
But it's kind of a bad sign that Stewart signed with ANA last summer... I'm not sure if this means PHI just doesn't want him... because I think he would've been a better risk than Gagner (though that was by trade and valued at a 3rd/4th w/Gross+Pronger going to ARI).
