Considering Yzerman has openly stated he would like a Dman in return, getting a pending UFA like Hamhuis doesn't make much sense for them long-term. Interesting offer though. If Hamhuis had time left on his deal this would make more sense for the Bolts.

If I heard correctly on TSN they said Drouin can still be traded after the deadline but he wouldn't be added to the play-off roster? Is that right?

Correct. But that goes the other way. If Tampa trades for Hamhuis, then Hamhuis can't play for Tampa in the playoffs. That's why you don't see a lot of trades after today.
