Damn, wonder what this means for Matt Carle as the PP quarterback. You would think that he would automatically be the PP qb if he got traded for DAN BOYLE. But I guess he\'s gonna have some serious competition if TB was willing to give up all that AND pay Meszaros $5 million.

That goaltending is the reason they WONT be able to compete. Too many new players, some of which are very young players like Carle & Stamkos, will make their defense very sketchy.

They\'ll have some growing pains, but watc out in 2 years if they can get a shutdown D-man. Meszaros isnt that guy and neither is Carle.

They trade Boyle for salary cap reasons. They are going to overpay for Meszaros. Makes no sense. Tampa, sure they have made a lot of moves, but are they smart? Just because they have made so many moves does not mean you compare them to Philly. The Flyers were smart about their additions.

I\'m glad I\'m a Sens fan because they just took TB to the cleaners. I like Meszaros, but who else thinks that is more then they would of got last year at the trade deadline for him.

I believe you may be bang on. Two young guys with loads of money purchased the team and decided to play General Manager. They are the only team in the league with a vacant GM spot yet they pull off a trade? These two young fellers are in way over their heads. Hiring Barry Melrose was the first and most obvious sign.

I don\'t know much about this young Picard kid but if he turns out to be something half decent, Murray possibly just made those two kids look like fools. Meszaros is good and age is on his side, but if you compare him to some other young defensemen his own age (Coburn, Phaneuf, Burns, Green), you\'d have to conclude his progress is significantly stunted in relation to others.
