Also just heard that Vinny's agent confirmed that Lecavalier intends to retire at the end of this season.
So, does that bring in some sort of recapture penalty in terms of ongoing cap hit for Philly?

Does anyone think Luke Schenn might be able to have a resurgence in LA? He was a pretty good multi-cat D back with the Leafs and his first season in Philly. Schenn's physicality might be put to good use in the Kings system.

There should not be as It is not one of those cheat contracts (ie. Hossa) or a buyout which would keep the whole cap on there. I think retirement just gets it terminated with not having to pay out the rest

I tought Lecavalier's contract was less movable than the Himalayas.
Good job Hextall and getting a decent prospect in Weal is bravo.
Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

I understand why L.A. added Schenn, but why would they take Lecavallier and 50% of a very ugly contract?
Is Philly off the hook should he retire after the season, or will they still carry some of the cap hit ?

schenn might turn out okay if he is paired with a good D, which could happen in LA.
this has to be some sort of thank you to PHI for helping LA get two cups.
lecavalier + schenn + 2 stanley cups for weal + 3rd? that's the only way it makes sense to me
