I'm thinking that with RyJo's apparent falling out with the regime in Columbus, combined with his mysterious medical issues over the summer, he may not be as expensive a commodity as some of these hypothetical trade deals might indicate.

As much as Columbus needs a dman, I think they would need a top line center even more (if they traded Johansen), so a deal involving Johansen for Jones doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I mean, they'd be filling one hole by opening up a much larger one, imo.

I guess on paper Johansen for Jones is an even deal, but I think Columbus would really regret dealing their top line center without having a replacement in place.

I guess you could argue that Jenner has stepped up his play enough to be a solid #2, and maybe Dubinsky can also be a #2 (when healthy), so maybe they will be content with two #2 centers, but rarely does that work out well for a team, and we all know that Dubinsky won't stay healthy long-term anyway.
