Jonathan Drouin requests trade from Tampa

I don't agree with the notion that a guy has to see top-six minutes or he's being wasted/not developed properly. Look at Kuznetsov. Got the third line treatment all year last year. Now he's a star.

I'm not sure if Kuz is an apt comparison. He had five years of pro hockey (4-1/2 in the KHL) before his breakout this year. Drouin is a kid straight from the Q. Not saying Drouin doesn't carry much of the responsibility for his poor showing so far, but TB has flubbed his development IMO.

Take back Matt Carle and you could probably have him. Just tossing shit at the wall but Drouin + Carle + mid-round pick for Streit + non-first pick upgrade. Who says no?

With Allen Walsh as his agent, this doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

The fact of the matter is, the Tampa Bay Lightning don't have to do anything here. At the end of the day, he has played in barely enough games to total one full NHL season (89 total games) and has no rights to ask for anything right now.

I can appreciate his frustration but this play is just the wrong way to go about getting the respect he wants. Go down to the AHL, put in the time and earn it and for god sakes, stay healthy.

drouin + carle for morin + streit would make more sense imo. but i think it might be something along the lines of drouin for 1 of sanheim/morin/hagg +. or maybe drouin/b.schenn? and luke can go the other way too?

Has anyone actually watched Drouin play this whole season? Asking because I haven't. Wondering if his usage is actually just weird (if he's trying hard and being responsible) or if he's just entitled.
