Sakic is one of those guys that seems to be everyone\'s favorite. Nothing to dislike about him, he\'s exactly what the NHL needs. I hope he has a great season (again).
Anyone think there\'s still a chance for him to be around in 2010 for the olympics?

Yes! Good news for Hejduk owners like me. I\'ve been trying to unload Hejduk for a while now but no one in my league wanted him, might as well ride him out even with his knee. Cmon 65 pts you can do it now Milan.......

Ya it will be good to see Burnaby Joe stick around for the Olympics in his home province. He may just step aside for a youngster, you never know. It seems like there will be a nice few Olympic virgins on the team in 2010, it would be good to have some more leadership, not saying Iginla and Thornton aren\'t good enough. Great to see him play another year though
I wonder where Dobber will insert him into his draft list...
Gotta love Joe
I wonder how well he\'s healed from his injuries last year, that will have a huge bearing on what kind of season he has. I\'m hoping his return means he\'s feeling as close to 100% as a 39 year old can.
good news for me because I love sackic and I didn\'t draft any of the guys that were slated to take his place on COL if he did in fact retire
he\'s getting a little worn down but don\'t underestimate him, 70-80 pts is by no means unrealistic with a player of his calibre regardless of his years, he obviously just needs to remain healthy enough to log a more or less full season.
as far as the olympics go, I hate to say it but I think the bane of team Canada has always been holding on to aging greats too much, you always want to have a veteran presence on the team but not at the expense of some of our incredible young talent...the euros are already fast, you need young wheels to keep pace, esp on the big ice
See team sig.
This post made my day.
Cheers.
Let\'s not forget...In 06-07 he was the 2nd oldest player in NHL history to record 100 pts...
1st is G.Howe who did it when he was 40... and oddly enough that was his ONLY 100 pt. NHL season... he had two 100 pt. seasons in the WHA.. at the age of 45 and 47... like a good wine, Gordie only got better with age

sakic wouldnt come back unless he thought he could play the same role at a level to his satisfaction. for him, thats 70+ pts per season with upside as he did put up 100 pts as recently as 2 years ago.
top 9 forwards:
sakic, stastny, smyth, hejduk, wolski, svatos, arnason, tucker, hensick
i fully expect sakic to put up around 75 pts this year =)
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
