Default turris for a ton of picks

    here\'s a doozy:

i want kyle turris but the owner of him is being pretty tight and rightfully so, its turris. he said he would give me turris for all my picks in 08 entry draft. deal=

    turris
    -for-
    6, 13, 18, 34, 60 (all overall of course).

i would likely snag bodker at 6, hoping del zotto at 13, not sure what is left at 18th. 34 and 60 are flyers.

if i intend to pursue this, i will likely try hold back a pick. i will try 18 but he likley wont bite. i bet i could hold pick 34.

if i got turris, i would have him signed for the next 8 years after he plays a \'full\' season in the nhl. as would be the case for any of the guys drafted.

ive always been a quality over quantity guy, but is this too much?

    Dude,

I think this is a great deal for you, especially since it looks like your league doesn\'t have positional requirements at F. While Boedker looks like he\'ll be a dandy, Turris\' upside is far higher, especially since you get him for 8 more years. As for losing out on Del Zotto, you\'ve got some very nice young D on your regular roster and farm, you\'ll survive just fine.

See if you can keep #18, or ask him for one of his 20-something picks in return. But even without holding back any picks,I\'d do this deal to get Turris. Like you said, quality over quantity.

    Good luck!

I would make that swap. Outside of Boedker, none of the selections you make will see time either this year or next. Turris, meanwhile is going to be getting good experience. It took acquiring Malkin for me to part with Turris.

If it were me with Turris, I would pass on the offer of all these picks. Turris has the makings of being an elite forward. Quality over Quantity any time. If you can save one of your picks, even better, or get one back in return, even better.

    Ya Know

It\'s not uncommon for young guys, even the guys that will be great to struggle out of the gates, I\'d make you picks and do the deal 20 games into the season when Turris has 5 points.

It\'s a gamble, but with the talent in this years draft, I\'d be a little hesitant to take a pass on it.

    My thoughts

I would take the deal as well but your needs seem great at d than on forwards, just a thought

I\'d also do it if I were you. Turris is a potential star and you won\'t be dealing any players at his level. It is a lot of assets to give up for a prospect though.

I think I would do the deal, but it would give me pause...If you were gauranteed Boedker at 6, I might keep all those picks. It appears that Boedker will be playing wing with Turris, so he will feed off of his success, plus you can address other needs with those picks. Colbourne, Pickard, Karlsson, they may all be there at 18, and then you could get lucky as well with some other picks. Granted, Turris is the sure thing, and you don\'t know if Boedker goes before your 6th overall selection. In our recent entry draft, (15 team keeper, with 3 rounds of picks) it went as follows...

    S. Stamkos
    D. Doughty
    N. Filatov
    Z. Bogosian
    M. Boedker
    C. Hodgson (Your pick)
    A. Pietrangelo
    C. Wilson
    A. Karlsson
    Z. Boychuk
    K. Beach
    J. Colbourne
    C. Pickard (Your pick)
    T. Myers
    V. Tikhonov

    L. Schenn
    A. Gustafsson
    M. Tedenby (Your pick)
    J. Eberle
    A. Ness
    J. Bailey
    J. Staal
    C. Teubert
    J. Missiaen
    M. Del Zotto
    T. Ennis
    J. Gardiner
    T. McCollum
    G. Nemisz
    J. Allen

    J. Markstrom
    H. Sateri
    A. Petersson
    J. Azevedo (Your pick)
    D. Leveille
    L. Sbisa
    J. Samuelsson
    T. Cuma
    J. Britton
    K. Petrov
    J. Hayes
    C. Robak
    P. Delmas
    T. Beskorowany
    Z. Dalpe

We only hit 45 picks, so I have no idea who would be there at 60, but the reality is who cares!

Given these choices, I would take Turris and run!

let me bring everybody back to earth here for a bit...this kid has played a grand total of 3 games, during which he had a single assist, a minor penalty and was a -5. While I think he has loads of upside, lets face it, its just that, \'upside\' until proven otherwise, don\'t sell your soul for him just yet thank you. And Jokinen is the 1st line center for the next 2 years barring injury so he\'s at least a few years away from growing into his potential \'stud\' role, if ever. I think thats alot to give up for ANY prospect but if you really think he\'s the shit (which I agree hes a good gamble) then it might be worth it, but you definately should try and retain at least your 2nd or 3rd rounder
