Wish him all the best, I hope he's at peace with this decision.
Feel bad for him, but it's the right decision.

glad he made the right call, no point risking your health.
Obviously making his comeback to the NHL was important and he was able to complete his story. Now is the right time to call it quits.

I kinda glad he retired. I loved him as a player but I'd rather see him healthy
I called this upon his latest return, and now wish I was wrong. I just got a sense that he wanted to go out like the true warrior that he is, and give it one more try, but there was something telling me he knew that this was his last shot. It was gutsy. Best of luck in your future endeavours, Mr. Dupuis. Take care of yourself.

Quality player and great all around guy. Enjoyed watching him play over the years. I agree he made the right decision. Health over career for sure.
Still remember when he came over from Atlanta. A lot of folks around Pittsburgh thought Dupuis was just a throw in. Less than a year later Hossa was out and Duper was on his way being a mainstay on Crosby's wing.
He certainly gave a solid effort to return, good thing he was smart enough to call it off before anything super serious happened.

See, I'm kind of sitting on the other side of the table here.
I think what he did was remarkably stupid. If you read his Players Tribune article, something super serious could have definitely happened and he chose to continue to play anyway.
I can respect a guy for having passion to do what he loves, for wanting to persevere and not wanting to give up.
I can't respect a guy for putting his life at risk when there are people in his life that would be devastated to lose him.
There are more important things in life than hockey. I'm glad the bozo eventually made the right decision and I will give him a lot of kudos for having a fantastic career.
I felt strange dropping him from my 60-player dynasty yesterday.
One of a few players still in the league that I remember supremely liking when he was an Atlanta Thrasher.
Hope retirement & family life is good to him.
