Just read speculation from Darren Dreger that the Ducks are shopping Andersen and Khudobin. Clearly Andersen is the more desirable asset, but would command a hefty return.

Possible destinations? The list seems short. Toronto? Edmonton?

There are others who I'm sure would be interested, but would have to figure out what to do with large salaries of incumbent goalies (Colorado, Calgary, Arizona, Carolina).

I think they have Khudobin right where they want him. You can't play both Andersen and Gibson, so Gibson in the minors is the right play for now. I think ideally, they want to move Andersen or Gibson (not Khudobin), preferably Andersen because they already know what Gibson costs them next year.

I don't think the Ducks will trade Andersen in the West. This summer I read somewhere the Sabres spoke with the Ducks about Andersen. Carolina? Philadelphia?

Calgary.... What other teams really need a goalie though? It is an over-saturated market

Toronto would kick tires on him, but I think they are comfortable with Bibeau, Sparks, and Reimer for now. I hope Andersen gets traded to a team that just needs some goaltending.

Andersen’s value is pretty low right now I think tho, lower than his talent would suggest.

I don't think much makes more sense than sending Gibson back to AHL.
Freddie is RFA... so he holds value even in that regard... value that the Ducks won't get in a return trade.
Khudobin is UFA in summer... so he holds no value... and no NHL team really is going to see him as a significant upgrade. (I don't think).

IDK... I think we'll see ANA soak as many starts out of Gibson as possible and then send him back to minors.
It will certainly help ANA's negotiations with Freddie to say "Hey, looks like Gibson is the golden boy, we'll over you... $2.5mil per..." (in not so direct words)

Who are the Murphy's in Ottawa and Pittsburgh?

I think it makes sense for Anaheim to move one of their big two. I just don't see a time-share next year being a great idea.

move andersen+ to Carolina, they already drafted him once, ward is done after this season, lack has been awful...

send back eric staal + prospect + pick

or something of that nature...

Edmonton already spent a ton to get Talbot and Nilsson has been playing pretty well...dont see them paying even more to bring in another guy

I agree. We've seen a few goalies pass already and it's not like Khudobin has done much to warrant getting picked up, not at his salary at least.
