    Default Time to drop Galchenyuk?

There are articles out there saying that Galchenyuk is poised for a break out season but so far, I'm not impressed. I have Larkin, Barkov, or Lehtera who I'm interested in picking up off waivers. My league counts shots, hits, blocks, +/-, PIM (negative points), faceoffs, and of course goals and assists. Too soon to jump the gun? I can always just bench him with Datsyuk coming up.

I dumped him a year ago. He's on a team that doesn't score a lot individually or traditionally as a team. He simply isn't a top player with elite skill he's simply a decent player looking to get 50 to 60 points a year at best. Still adjusting to his natural c position which is a bit concerning in itself. Limited upside where others have a lot more.

I wouldn't drop Galchenyuk for any of those players. Hang onto him.

Would like to see your full team and league details. Dropping Galchenyuk in a keeper league seems insane. Then again, a keeper league with Barkov on the waiver wire - I guess that implies it's a really shallow league. Hard to say for certain without more details.

Galy just isn't playing the minutes compared to those other guys I mentioned and I'm worried I might be missing an opportunity here. Larkin playing between Tatar & Nyquist sounds pretty good but on the other hand the kid is still only 19.

If "up to 6 contracts" means a keep 6 in a 10 team league, I'd drop for some better short term scoring. Bob, Schneider, Heds, Faulk, Benn, Tank are my keepers.

    Minutes minutes minutes.

He is on a team rolling 4 lines that has a coach that likes to play the underdog over pure talent. His situation is not great.

Imagine for a moment these two players switched places/minutes : Galchenyuk for Draisaitl

... In a one year league where he is not a keeper his is not "undroppable" if you think that there is a player who is in a better situation.

A "keep 6" keeper does change everything....
