FWIW, it's called overlay.
DFS companies by law (hilarious, with all the legal stuff going on), have to guarantee a certain portion of payout per day/weekend whatever. So there a guaranteed contests posted across the industry where the prize pool is already set and regardless of how many people enter the contest they have to payout what was promised.
A common strategy actually for people with time on there hands (mostly those who play DFS as a profession) scour the sites minutes before contests lock to find tournaments with overlay. If a tournament has a guaranteed 45% payout and only 60% of it is full, you've upped your odds to a like 85% payout. But yea. Whatever those tournaments list as what they pay per spot, that spot will get paid that much regardless of how full the tournament gets.
