He will miss his ninth consecutive game Tuesday because of his nagging groin injury. The defenseman had been building up for a return recently, but the injury continues to linger.
Shattenkirk did practice Monday, skating alongside rookie Joel Edmundson early when the team did some pre-practice power-play work and then with Chris Butler when practice began in earnest. There is no evidence that suggests Shattenkirk will play Wednesday in Chicago; after that, the Blues are off until playing Saturday at Nashville.
