I say the Anaheim Ducks situation is a headache, between those two and Lindholm... I think the coach will just play the hot hand... which I think will interchange all year.
Fowler seems to be disappearing off the radar due to a down year last year. Anyone else think there is a chance he bounces back this year and even possibly surpasses Vatanen for power play time/production?
Is the GAP between these two players as big as it seems on yahoo's overall ranks? Fowler is ranked 203 overall on yahoo and Vatanen is ranked 109.

Vatanen and Lindholm will be there once the dust settles.
fantasy wise vatanen will always win in pts and fowler doesnt give any peripherals for multicat which is a must for dmen. Fowler needs to shoot more to get those rebound assists.
Vatanen is the most naturally offensively gifted of the ANA D. He won't be their overall #1 but he will likely own that PP1 slot.
They already share PP1 duties so I don't think he passes Vatanen for PP duties, even though Vatanen has more TOI on the PP.
The main reason for the gap is probably the peripherals that Vatanen brings that Fowler lacks (hits, blocks, PIMs, SOG). Straight up, Vatanen is the best fantasy Dman on Anaheim.

I have watched a lot of Anaheim games over the last few years and Fowler has never really impressed me. I like Vatanen and Lindholm over Fowler and actually think Anaheim will trade Fowler before his current contract is up as he is a redundant piece for them..

I agree with pretty much everything that's been said, but just wanted to add in that, value-wise, Fowler is better than the other guys. Vatanen is likely being drafted higher than he deserves in most cases, while Fowler is all but an after-thought. You could snag him very late in your draft and get nice assist and PP numbers (with some blocks) if he has a bit of a rebound year. Meanwhile you won't have to reach to be sure you get Vatanen.
