Umberger, Lecavalier and Luke Schenn on the block?

Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer writes that GM Ron Hextall is looking to trade R.J. Umberger, Vincent Lecavalier and Luke Schenn.
While it could be tough to deal any of them at this time, trade talks should start up in the next week or so as teams get down to their 23 man squads. Umberger was dealt from Columbus 15 months ago for Scott Hartnell in a trade that the Flyers have to regret. Umberger had nine goals and 15 points in 67 games before undergoing surgery to repair hip and abdominal muscle issues. He has no fantasy value at this time.

Luke Schenn would be a decent grab if the Flyers took half of his 3.35mill contract. At 1.675mill and in his final yr of his contract, a team like Boston should look that way. If it doesn’t work out, oh well as long as they don’t over pay.

In fact, why don't the Hawks & Flyers just flip Vinny for Bickell.

To Vinny's credit - he's come to camp in great shape and has been playing well in preseason. He has the right attitude at lease. As for the Schenn's, I'm starting to think they are what they are - ok players but nothing special, especially Luke who is nothing more than a 3rd pairing shotblocker at best.

I am pretty sure Lecavalier has been on the block since the second the Flyers signed him and Umberger should have been on the block since they traded for him.

Holmgren was a terrible manager of the cap and Hextall continues to dig out from the hole Holmgren left the Flyers in

Hartnell was traded due to cap issues, Umberger is terrible, but had less term

The JVR for LSchenn was a terrible trade; Schenn is a human pylon, but like said above if they pay some of his salary and get a pick back I'd drive him to the airport

Vinny was a horrible FA signing, the only hope is he produces something finally and they can get someone to bite

MacDonald is not on the block because his contract is so long and so bad that even the moronic GM in the NHL would not touch him, Hextall knows that. He's going to have to ride that one longer unfortunately.
