O\'Sullivan Contract
Anyone hearing any rumours on what is going on with Patrick O\'Sullivan\'s contract? Last I heard he is an RFA but I haven\'t hear if there is any progress on talks. He could be set for a big season but not if he missing training camp.
Is anyone going to take a shot with an offer sheet?

i am sure a lot of teams will want to give an offer sheet but kings gm says they have a ton of cap space and will return the offer sheet to a player on their team. also, i am not sure if kopitar signed but i heard that once they have kopitar signed they will sign o sullivan. that way o sullivan wont ask for more than what kopitar got

no team will offer him a contract, it would have to be a huge offer for LA not to match as they have >$25MM in cap space, and the poaching team would have to give up alot of picks if they got into that big offer range. I hope he signs soon tho, I am in a cap league and having him and rads uncertain for next year has really thrown a wrench into my plans as I will be right up against the cap, and could be struggling to replace them!

IMHO this is probably the result of Dean Lombardi\'s stinginess. He\'s laid out a great rebuilding plan, got a great core of youth, and is now gunshy to commit salary.
O\'Sully probably wants Brown money and term. Lombardi learned his lesson with Cammalleri, hopefully, and will get this kid signed.
If Lombo pulls a Gainey though, and signs him for a single year at low-ish value, then...well, it won\'t be pretty. It\'ll be a Michael Ryder situation all over again.
I hope someone gives him a juicy offer sheet so LA will be forced to match, just so this circus will be over with. I doubt anyone will though.
