    Can someone explain to me why there's so much love for Stone? I can understand that Nichushkin is still untested but is Stone not an ideal candidate for regression? 16.6 shooting pct. 1029 PDO...what am I missing here?

    talent, pedigree, opportunity, linemates, trust from the coaching staff, and the it factor. You have to watch him to appreciate him moreso than looking at the numbers, which are actually great at every Level he's ever played at.

    I don't expect him to regress from the 65 points or whatever he put up because he was actually a point per game player or close to it in the final 50 some games, and that was his true self after Dave Cameron replaced Paul Maclean. So he could regress from that, which would still give him 65-70 points IMO. He's also a playmaker so I don't care about shooting percentage with him.

    yeah, its a good rule to always take the proven asset. only exception is when the proven player is very old...but its not like stone is even close to that range.
