That isn't proof anything (innocence or guilt)...

If the NFL had gone with the approach of 'what happened' rather than 'who do we blame' this fiasco would have been resolved without anyone losing face. Balls deflate naturally... more so when is is cold and wet. The Pats opponents has 3/4 of their tested balls under the limit in that game but hey, why be a slave to facts and stuff. If the science said otherwise I'm fine with calling the Pats cheats, but the science doesn't.

Except that there is zero proof that they cheated.

In fact, most of the science says the deflation observed in the balls was to be expected based on conditions. The NFL railroaded the process and got called on it.
(not saying the Pats haven't done other skeezy things in the past, but this one was pure witch hunt...)

Yes, there is zero proof that they actually cheated. But as Axeman mentions, destroying cell phones, teams knowing that Brady does this and why, the fact that almost all the Pats balls were deflated but none of the Colts' balls in that game, the text messages that allude to something like this, etc.

So zero proof, but enough circumstantial evidence for me to believe they cheated.

Dunno. Maybe they figured they'd lose that battle and have to turn it over. Who knows what Brady has on his phone. Communications with his wife? His family? His agent? His doctor? In this day in age do you really want to take a chance on anything not being leaked to youtube, facebook or twitter?

Listen, I'm a Bills fan...I hate the effin' Patriots. But I think we are all a little too quick to offer up someone else's right to privacy. The NFL employs former FBI investigators; these aren't some mall rent-a-cops at $15/hour. By their own admission they failed to find evidence Brady committed any wrong doing, but punished him 4 games anyway because it was likely he had. Ha! Way to invent your own standard of proof Roger.

Goodell should have put forth half the effort in tracking down Ray Rice's second elevator tape as he has persecuting Brady over two hundredths PSI. Seems like he's over compensating for past errors.

The footballs are not supposed to be under 12.5 PSI. Look at the Pats balls. Five of them are in the 10s, according to one of the testers. Of 11 balls being tested by two testers, every one is under-inflated, and only one of the 22 tests had even one of the balls at 12 or higher. Thirteen of the 22 tests had the balls at least one full PSI less than regulation.

Same page, look at the Colts footballs. One tester had all four footballs at regulation, and the other tester said three of the four were under-inflated. So that's three of eight tests (not 3/4). The lowest football came in at 12.15.

So the Colts worst test on a football still had a higher PSI than the Pats highest-inflated football.

If the Pats were hovering around 12.5, this wouldn't be an issue.

There's no standardization of those gauges across the industry. You'll obtain different readings with ech brand. Regardless, there was no proof offered Brady had any involvement so that point is moot anyway. Even the Judge in his ruling stated Goodell's punishment was arbitrary.
