With Kane's rep I doubt he does well in a Canadian city - to much visibility. Gotta be a bigger market.
Be cool to see a mega swap like Kane for Malkin.

$10.5 million is only Kane's cap hit next season, he will get payed $13.8 million for the next 3 years. Not all teams in the NHL can afford that, especially not teams who don't spend close to the cap anyway.
You'd have to think there would be some salary retained at that price tag. Selling on Kane during this fiasco is selling Kane at a discount. No one is going to give what would be considered a fair return under ideal circumstances with this hanging over his head. You'd have to think the Hawks would be looking to bring back high-end prospects and maybe a filler roster player. No need for them to go right back into cap hell. Moving Kane would really be the end of an era and they'd probably need to focus on youth to jumpstart a minor rebuild, after losing Kane, Sharp, and Saad in one summer.

You'd think that they'd have to retain salary but to this point Chicago has made a concerted effort to only be on the right side of retained salary deals. I don't see them bending in this hypothetical deal. There's enough interest they can hold out for the team that can swallow the whole contract with a smile.
I don't understand the logic whatsoever of Chicago trading Kane right now. I also don't understand the logic of any team trying to acquire him right now. There are two options: 1. he's a rapist, 2. he's not. Time will tell-- in the eyes of the law-- which one it is. But nothing at all will happen until it's known. Taking into consideration the potential severity of Kane's situation, no GM is going to part with the pieces it would take to acquire him right now.
The main thing is though, Chicago has no reason to trade him at all. There is just no scenario where it would make them a better team.
