Tank+Shat for Stamkos+Stralman?

Hey guys,

Second league in sig.

Just received a feeler for my Tank+Shat. I don't really think this is enough to move them both, but my questions are:

1) Given Stamkos' contract status, would you stand clear? What do you guys project his salary will be for the coming years?

• My though is that if it stays below 9 mil, he should be close in value with Tank. Am I right?

2) If I am willing to take the gamble on Stammer's salary, what would he need to add in order to make this deal appealing to me? Stralman's contract seems like a good bargin, but he's no Shattenkirk.

He has the entire TB roster, so I could make a counter offer including other players as well (Kucherov, Johnson, Palat, etc.). Picks are also a possibility, but given that this is the first year of this dynasty league, the picks seem highly valued (rightfully so).

Still trying to grasp player's value in a cap league.

1) My guess is that you are looking at Kane and Toews contracts as comparable for Stamkos. So looking at the 10 million range.

I would stay clear of this deal for sure. Stralman is old and only has had one good year and Shattenkirk is the better option by far.

2) I think he would have Namestiknov or Killorn in order to make the deal worthwhile for you.

In a strictly points league with G & A being equal there is not that much gap between Tank and Stamkos. Add in the fact that you count salaries and I expect Stammer to be closer to $11M per and I think you have your answer, stick with Tank and Shatt. I'd say Stamkos has the ability to get +-10 more points than Tank on any given season, but those 10 points will likely cost you an additional $3M per season. General rule of thumb of 10 points per million and I actually like Tank straight up at 7.5M delivering 75-85 points than Stamkos at his likely +-11M and 85-95 points.

I would also stick with Tank and Shattenkirk. I can appreciate your wanting Stamkos but that salary is going to be massive. Trust me, the only reason he's even shopping Stamkos is because the other GM knows what's coming and is looking to avoid the obvious.

And for the record, Stralman isn't old at 29 years of age.

Tank + Shattenkirk is definitely a better value, especially since Stamkos' new contract will almost certainly approach or exceed $10M AAV.

Points-wise, I think Tarasenko and Stamkos will be pretty close (Stammer might average 5-15 more, but maybe not), while Stralman (40-45) and Shattenkirk (55-60) are miles apart.

Then to my second question : What do you guys feel a good counter would be?

Kuch + Drouin + Stralman for Tank + Shat? Should I ask for more? Again, depending on Kuch's salary for the future, this could turn out ugly I guess.

No way would I consider that....give me the Tank & Shatty side here by a large margin. Stralman is likely to put up half the points Shatty should, and Tank & Stammer are pretty much awash.

Stammer will always be gold- but his new contract in salary leagues is gonna hurt. Also Stralman is a ginormous step down from Captain Kirk...
