Found this funny, thought I'd share

The guy in my Forecaster keeper league who is a perennial rebuilder owns Crosby, Malkin, Tavares, and Hall in a league that's a Keep 12. He also managed to acquire 8 first round picks in our 15 team league. He had 11 of 15 lottery balls (Top 5 are in the lottery - 5,4,3,2,1 balls). The team with one lottery ball WON.

What a kick in the teeth! Hahaha

We have a lotto system for the bottom half in our 16-team league. Teams 9-11 get one ball, 12-13 get two, 14-15 get three, last gets four balls. The guy in 9th place the last two years (same guy) has won both times.

Odds of that happening two years in a row are 1/289. Crazy

He always damages his team - he's had those awesome players for three years now and never goes for it. Keeps building. Which is fine because I was barely 2nd last year, but 1st the three prior years. So he can build and build all he wants, I'm fine with it! lol

In my 12-team dynasty, mounD (PIT) had 70% lottery shot at the #1 overall pick in our 2015 entry draft.

He was paired with NHL teams finishing last, 2nd last, 5th last, 6th last and 7th last onwards.
Only the 3rd last & 4th last teams held their 1st round picks.
EDM won the NHL lottery, so our 3rd last team ("Chicago") also won the lottery.

Poor guy. He took it... pretty well.
Kudos for him for holding his head high and realizing there were still several good draft picks for his re-build.

The way we do our draft lottery is each lottery team is assigned a NHL team in the playoffs.

Team who has the Stanley cup winner gets the first overall.

One GM acquired 5 first round picks, two of which were lottery bound.
He had a total of 10 of the 16 NHL teams.

And low and behold the team who finished just outside the playoffs won the lottery.

Best part was I beat the eventual lottery winner in the last week of the regular season to cause him to miss the playoffs and essentially get McDavid, which is great because I finished dead last and I traded away my 1st round pick.

That is disastrous. I would never pay that much just for a good chance at McDavid. I'd rather pay even more for a guarantee at McDavid than risk winding up with basically nothing to show.

That is nuts! While not quite comparable, I'm in two points only leagues where every team has a chance at 1st overall pick. I entered these two lotteries with a 14% chance in one, and 30% chance in the other. And won McDavid in both, lol.

That’s a great set of minor league talent tho. Eichel, Strome, and Zacha will prolly be immediate NHLers with Barzal coming up in a yr or two. Always remember who you got and not who you gave up.
