Yahoo fantasy hockey opens on Thursday. Myself and a couple of Dobber staffers will have five articles on Thursday and Friday on Puck Daddy to help launch this.

I don't know if that helps, I read a few posts on here and didn't see a date given. So thought I'd share what I know

Confirmation that August 20 is the date is nice. Any insider info on positional eligibility? haha

Yep, re: the post above. When a Yahoo guy goes out and says this, it should be true. From my experience, not often do they actually say anything, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Also, from what I remember, it was around that date last year.

I'm pretty confident that position eligibility will remain largely unchanged, and then a bunch more will be given extra positions leading up the season (as usual). Having positions will soon be less relevant given the number of players with multiple eligibility. They clearly don't care. Oh well.

Per position eligibility, there’s a higher chance of Pavelski getting Defense eligibility than Buff losing his forward eligibility.

“Oh ya totally”
“He made a good poke check on the play too”
“Alright, he’s now a defenseman as well”

Probably, was simply hoping for a sneak peak.

I'm actually pretty indifferent about the whole positional eligibility thing. In every game there's going to be some sort of inefficient game mechanic that is arguably unfair. THis one isnt too bad.

A Yahoo employee said last year that changes would come this year. However, their changes mean that Kane & Hall will no longer be listed as centers, Malkin as RW etc.

They said that two years ago after lengthy discussions with myself and other users and nothing happened. I'm not holding my breath.

It looks like something's happening - When you go to the Yahoo Hockey fantasy, your teams/leagues from the 2014-15 season are no longer there. I remember this happening last year too, just before they opened for new season... fingers crossed.
